A fully booked month means very little if most of those names never come back. The Client Connection is about the part of the job nobody taught you in school: the consultation, the handoff, the retail conversation, the follow up — the touchpoints where loyalty is either built or quietly lost.
We work through each stage of the client journey and what to change at each one. Not scripts to recite, but a way of running the appointment that makes rebooking the obvious next step rather than an awkward ask at the front desk.
It is the least glamorous course we teach and frequently the one that changes revenue fastest. Illinois estheticians earn 3 CEU hours.
The work
What you will be able to do
- Run a consultation that surfaces what the client actually wants, not just what they asked for
- Set realistic expectations up front so results land as promised rather than as a disappointment
- Recommend home care and retail as part of the treatment plan instead of a sales pitch at the end
- Rebook at the moment in the appointment when it feels natural, not as a transaction afterwards
- Build a follow up rhythm that keeps you present between visits without becoming noise
- Handle the difficult conversations: a disappointing result, a price increase, a no show policy
- Track the two or three retention numbers that tell you whether any of it is working

How many CEU hours does The Client Connection provide?
Three CEU hours for licensed estheticians in Illinois, sponsored under IDFPR license 190.000934. Business and professional development topics are accepted as electives toward your Illinois renewal.
Do business courses count toward Illinois CEU hours?
Yes. Once your mandated topics are covered, your remaining hours are elective and may cover professional development as well as clinical technique. See the full Illinois requirements for how the ten hours break down.
Is this only useful if I own my own studio?
No. If you rent a room, work on commission or are employed in a spa, the client relationship is still yours and it still follows you. If anything, retention matters more when you do not control the marketing budget.
Is this a sales course?
Not in the way that word usually lands. The premise is that recommending the right home care is part of doing the treatment properly, and that a client who leaves without it has been under served. If a course full of closing techniques is what you are after, this is not it.
Can I take this if I am licensed outside Illinois?
Yes. The CEU hours are sponsored for Illinois; check with your own board before counting them toward a renewal elsewhere.
